SPEAKER PROFILE – STEPHEN CONSTABLE
Stephen Constable discovered diagnostic ultrasound while he was a hospital biomedical engineer and retrained to scan people. Stephen supported NHS clinical and imaging staff for two major manufacturers, then in the late 1980’s he realised the potential of the technology to compensate for veterinary patients inability to tell us where it hurts. Stephen changed to full-time animal work in 1991 and became an independent teacher in 2001.
COURSE CONTENT:
Specific Topics included: Bladder wall, lining, contents, foreign bodies, interpreting artifacts and gravity effects. Urethra location and use as landmark, Uterus or prostate, Intestine overview, peristalsis, gas, mucosa inspection and measurement. Spleen location, shape, texture and abnormalities. Kidney location, structure, echogenicity, cysts, mineralisation and blood flow. Stomach gas interpretation and difference analysis. Liver shape, echogenicity, lesions, vessels. Gall Bladder and Bile duct. Thoracic fluid. Scanner parameter control optimisation and anatomy are included but there is no veterinary science content.
EQUIPMENT:
Any scanner owned or borrowed, can be used by participants. Why not take along one of our Chison scanners?
